Hickory Nut Kennels is proud to announce that the father and son training team of Kevin and Ty Wallace has joined our staff.

Kevin Wallace grew up in West Tennessee hunting rabbits and coon with hounds, but he loved chasing ducks when the creeks flooded. Shortly after college he moved to the southern side of middle Tennessee and started a family. 

Kevin's love for duck hunting continued to grow and was shared with his son Ty who was chasing ducks with dad before he was even old enough to carry a gun. But something was still missing.  Kevin grew up hunting with dogs and it just wasn't the same without a four-legged companion so he got himself a Labrador Retriever and never looked back. 

For more than 23 years now Kevin has worked and trained with Labradors and Chesapeake Retrievers training them to be both hunting partners and well-mannered family companions.

Ty Wallace, Kevin's son, was raised with Labradors and Chessies, learning to handle the dogs while still in school.  After graduating college, Ty joined his father Kevin in the opportunity to train these amazing dogs full-time. 

This father and son team have combined their love for dogs, ducks, and each other into a 12-hour-a-day labor of love.
